With Mekong Delta localities easing quarantine and testing rules, here is a list of six luxury resorts nestled along islets or mountains, with some only accessible by boat.

Around 10 kilometers from Chau Doc Market in An Giang Province, Victoria Nui Sam Lodge is nestled on Sam Mountain, one of the most famed spiritual sites in Mekong Delta and home to Ba Chua Xu Lady Temple.

It has 40 bungalows decked with stone-coated walls and tiled roofs, with each boasting a private terrace or balcony overlooking paddy rice fields.

While staying at the resort, you can go on a pilgrimage to Ba Chua Xu Lady Temple at the foot of the mountain, which is always crowded in spring.

Located on Au Islet in Cai Rang District of Can Tho City, Azerai Can Tho Resort opened to tourists in 2018 with 60 bungalows and five villas, with the only way to reach the islet being via boat.

Not far from Ninh Kieu Wharf, Victoria Can Tho Resort sits on the banks of the Hau River and surrounded by flower gardens and green trees.

The resort also offers cruise tours for guests to explore life along the waterways as it passes houses built on stilts over the water and boats in a bewildering variety of sizes, shapes and colors docked along shore.

The resort has 92 rooms with private balconies offering views of the Hau River, one of the two tributaries of the Mekong River in Vietnam. All rooms are designed in a modern style with the main interior being yellow and brown.

Room rates cost from VND1.5 million a night.

Around 7 kilometers from downtown Can Tho, Can Tho Ecolodge is surrounded by green paddy fields and home to 12 thatched cottages with 48 rooms spread over 2.7 tropical hectares on the banks of the Ba Lang River.

All interior furniture is made of local bamboo, palm leaf and red brick. Each room costs from VND2.2 million.

While staying at the resort, guests are able to join eco cooking classes, cycle along paddy fields or visit Cai Rang floating market.

Around two hours by car from Ho Chi Minh City, Ben Tre Riverside Resort is the first four-star resort in Ben Tre Province, dubbed the kingdom of coconuts. It has 80 rooms and a large outdoor swimming pool.

All interiors consist of coconut elements, a symbol of Ben Tre.

The resort is offering a combo package of VND1.29 million, including three meals

Located along Thoi Son Islet on the Tien River in Chau Thanh District of Tien Giang Province, The Island Lodge Thoi Son has 12 rooms of 34 square meters each.
