Hoi An coffee shop connects guests with nature

 Surrounded by green trees and a quiet atmosphere, Bonte Cafe in the ancient town of Hoi An is a favorite hangout for nature lovers.

Located on Le Hong Phong Street in Tan An Ward, around two kilometers from downtown Hoi An, a popular tourist hotspot, the cafe facade is covered by green trees and may be hard to find for first-timers.

The cafe, which opened to tourists mid-this year, originates from the owner's desire to create a space to connect coffee lovers with nature via a plethora of plants and natural materials. Designed by Yen Architecture, a firm based in Quang Nam Province, the coffee shop was recently featured by the leading U.S. architectural magazine Archdaily thanks to its unique design.

The 50-square-meter outdoor area resembles a small garden surrounded by trees, shrubs, and some types of vines. The trees provide shade and fresh, clean air.

The bar area is located on the ground floor with an open design, allowing guests to witness the coffee brewing process as they order.

On the second floor, guests can choose to sit on a tree-covered balcony and enjoy the slow pace of life in Hoi An.

The third floor boasts a quiet atmosphere and is designed like a ‘co-working space’ dedicated to those looking for a place to work, study in groups, or read.

The cafe menu ranges from Vietnamese coffee, Italian-style coffee, cold brew, teas to frozen drinks, fruit juices and sweet cakes, with prices of VND18,000 to 60,000 ($0.79-2.64). Situated at 99 Le Hong Phong Street in Tan An Ward, the cafe is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Authorities in Hoi An allowed restaurants and coffee shops to reopen from early September and serve guests on the spot but must maintain a distance of at least two meters between tables, with each having no more than four customers.
