With weekend staycation a growing trend among Saigonese post lockdown, here are four high-end facilities worth consideration.
Designed as a tropical forest in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, CityOasis on Ho Hao Hon Street in District 1 is covered with green shade all year round. Before the pandemic, it mainly served long-term and foreign guests. Recently, with staycation-demand soaring, the apartment complex has launched short-term accommodation services.
The apartment complex has 27 rooms, all with private kitchens and bathtubs. To ensure safety and pandemic prevention measures, it currently only operates at half its capacity. Room rates range from VND1.2 to 2.3 million ($52.65-100.92), excluding breakfast.
The Bloom on Pham Viet Chanh Street in Binh Thanh District is a high-class apartment complex often rented by foreign experts for business purposes thanks to its downtown location and quiet surroundings. Due to the impacts of the pandemic, it welcomes mainly domestic guests for short stays.
Currently, the apartment complex only operates at half its capacity and serves on-site dining. Ha Phuong, sales director of The Bloom, said it only accepts new guests with a vaccine green pass. Long-term customers and employees have all been vaccinated and comply with pandemic prevention measures. Rooms and public areas across the entire building are disinfected regularly, she added.
All rooms have a private kitchen, a restaurant and bar. Guests can also use the private gym and swimming pool. Room rates range from VND800,000 to 1.3 million, including breakfast for two.
La Vela Saigon Hotel on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street in District 3 has over 200 rooms with the lowest price at VND2.5 million before the pandemic. Currently, the hotel offers a package of VND1.9-2.2 million including one night stay with breakfast and dim sum buffet for two.
Hoi Chan, a resident of District 6, said what she liked most was the 70-meter swimming pool. The hotel also offers spa, gym, bar and casino services.
All guests staying at the hotel are required to furnish a certificate showing they have been fully vaccinated. Children traveling with parents must have a negative test for the coronavirus within 72 hours. Breakfast buffet at the hotel has been replaced by à la carte menu to minimize exposure.
Located on Saigon River in An Phu Ward in Thu Duc City, Mia Saigon Resort opened in 2019 and has become a popular destination for weekend trips because of its airy and quiet space. Guests staying here can experience a full range of amenities and facilities on the resort's premises like restaurants, bars, gyms, swimming pools, spas and cruises.
The resort has 35 rooms and 17 suites, all overlooking the Saigon River. The resort is offering a 30 percent discount for guests who make bookings seven days in advance. There is also a 10-30 percent discount on food services and bars.
